Across the Spectrum, L.L.C. was founded and is operated by Leah Cross. Leah is a Certified Special Education Teacher PK-12, through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kutztown University and a Masters degree in Education from Millersville University.
Leah worked as a Special Education Teacher for six years providing academic and social instruction and support to students in the regular education and special education classrooms. Her experience includes working with children with autism spectrum disorder, emotional disturbance, specific learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, hearing loss, visual impairment, and apraxia. Previously, Leah provided Behavioral Health and Rehabilitation Services (BHRS) as a Therapeutic Staff Support, specifically for children with autism spectrum disorder for seven years. She also specialized in leading a social skills program for children with the exceptionality of autism.
Leah co-taught a Language Group with a Speech and Language Pathologist for three years. The focus of the group was on comprehensive language skills such as: vocabulary building, comprehension, sequencing, following directions, and other early language foundational skills.
Leah also co-taught Social Skills, Social Cognition and Self-Regulation Groups with an Occupational Therapist for three years. The focus of each group varied, but topics covered included: building peer interactions, Whole Body Listening, expected vs. unexpected behavior, Flexible Thinking, Size of the Problem, Zones of Regulation, social problem solving, and focusing on self-awareness and perspective taking when interacting with others.
